From: John Duerden, Executive President -
Climate and Appliance Controls Invensys Climate Controls will notify the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) that a product failure occurred in a commercial cooking application in which the Robertshaw TS-11 thermal safety control valve was installed. Initial investigation creates the suspicion that the TS-11 valve was involved. Over 100,000 TS-11 valves are produced each year. We are investigating; and while that is in process, we are asking customers to immediately stop shipment of products that contain the TS-11 valve and quarantine existing inventory of TS-11 in your possession. We are taking this action because our primary concern is the safety of the people who use our products. We are giving this issue the highest priority; we are gathering the best people we can find to give the best advice we can get to understand the causes and develop a swift resolution. We know you share our concern for safety. We ask you for your understanding and cooperation in the days ahead, when more details become available and a clear path to resolution is established. At that time we expect to be able to give you further direction on what to say to your customers who have product operating in the field. We will keep you updated as to the progress of our investigation and the procedures that will be put in place to address the issue and help you deal with the situation. |

September 7, 2004 Dear Wolf Range Distributor, This letter is to update you about a situation
we recently encountered with our supplier, Robertshaw, and
their TS-11 safety valve. The TS-11 is a Robertshaw has shut down the manufacturing of their TS-11 safety valve. Until they can nail down the specific time frame for their production of contaminated valves we would like for you to communicate some precautionary measures for our mutual customers to follow that would promote safe use of our range base ovens. Please forward the attached correspondence to customers as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Safety is our number one requirement at Wolf Range Company. From our President on down, we took action immediately when we learned about this safety issue. We believe we did the responsible thing in shutting down our production. We have located another supplier for this safety valve and are now back into production on our Challenger restaurant ranges and Teppan-yaki griddles. If any of these models are currently in your inventory, please contact our Customer Service Department to arrange for a replacement unit. As always, if ever I can be of any assistance, please let me know. Regards, Harvey Wolsky [click
